Outside of school, Ria spends her time volunteering at Swedish Medical or at Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center, conducting research studies, or working as the manager of Career in STEM. The majority of her day consists of roasting corn to sell by the side of the road. She lives in a community called Gwallaga with her husband. Her diet consists of minimal protein and enough iron. Her entire family sleeps without a mosquito-proof net. She had recently become too tired to keep up with her family and work.<\/p><p style=\"top:245px;left:102px;text-align:left;font-weight:500;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;font-size:18px;font-family:Montserrat;line-height:22px;color:#000000;width:1080px;white-space:normal;\" class=\"ls-l ls-text-layer\" data-ls=\"position:relative;\">Upon taking my patient's history, I found that Aishatu presented with symptoms of intermittent fever, headache, loss of apetite, weakness, and abdominal pain. I requested a Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) and blood culture. The RDT came back positive and the blood culture detected salmonella typhi allowing me to diagnose her with malaria and typhoid. I prescribed Aishatu Artemether-Lumefantrine, which is an anti-malarial tablet, and antibiotics for her typhoid. In addition to this, I advised her to wear long sleeves, pants and to sleep using an insecticide-treated mosquito net to prevent catching malaria again, as well as maintaining her hygiene to avoid contracting typhoid again.<\/p><p style=\"top:393px;left:102px;text-align:left;font-weight:500;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;font-size:18px;font-family:Montserrat;line-height:22px;color:#000000;width:1080px;white-space:normal;\" class=\"ls-l ls-text-layer\" data-ls=\"position:relative;\">Aishatu was ultimately diagnosed with malaria and typhoid. doctors and nurses, while also learning about some of the more intricate parts of medicine.<\/p><p other medical procedures.
